Report cards and volunteers

Hello parents,

I forgot to mention yesterday that report cards will be coming home today so please check your child's backpack.

Also in January we are going on a field trip and will need 3-4 volunteers.  Please read the note below.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
On Thursday January 18, 2017, our class will be visiting Fort Calgary for an all day field trip. In order for us to go, we will require parent volunteers! If you have CBE clearance and would like to join us, please email me at dmkrahn@cbe.ab.ca  at your earliest convenience. Fort Calgary requires us to maintain a 1-adult to 6-student ratio but are allowing us to bring additional adults – this means that we can take as many volunteers that wish to come!
Thank you for your continued support!

MakerSpace

Today we had the opportunity to challenge ourselves in the MakerSpace in our learning commons.  The class listened to a story called "The First Day of Winter" and made connections to the song the Twleve Days of  Christmas. Then students were given the opportunity to create different winter items such as a mitten, a ski hill, a snowman, a sled or a snowflake using a variety of materials including lego.  The students worked together in small groups and were sharing ideas and kept trying new ideas.  The collaboration and creative forces were amazing to watch.

REMINDERS
Poinsettias will be delivered on Wednesday and will be ready for pick up onWednesday 2:15 to 3:00pm.  Thursday 7:45 to 8:15am and 2:15 to 3:00pm.  Please arrange to pick up your items on one of these days to ensure all are picked up by the weekend.
We are still looking for volunteers to help assist with these times.  If you are a cleared volunteer and can help please emailcouncils.kennethdtaylor@gmail.com
